Score the runs riders send you.

Riders send a show run or a practice pattern. You score it on a real scoresheet and talk through it over the video. RideLab handles booking, payment, and payout.

What you get

The same read you give at the rail, for riders who cannot get a judge to their arena.

You set the price
You pick your rate for a judged run once you are approved. The allowed range and the platform fee are on your dashboard after you sign in. Riders pay when they send the run, and your share goes to your bank through Stripe Connect a few days after you send the score.
List the cards you hold
Add every association you carry a card with, from AQHA, APHA, ApHC, NRHA, NRCHA, NCHA, and more. Riders can filter for a judge who holds the card their class needs.
Score on the sheet the class uses
Reining, cow horse, ranch riding, trail, western riding, horsemanship, dressage, hunter, or one overall score. The sheet is picked for the class before you accept a run.
Earn on the pros you bring
Know a coach or judge who belongs here? Send them your invite link and earn a share of what RideLabmakes on their paid work, for as long as you are both here. It costs them nothing. How referrals work
Sponsored placement when you want it
Pay 50 credits for 30 days of extra visibility in search and browse results. It is always labeled Sponsored and never changes your rating or review order.

How a judged run works

Four steps, same as a live show class, done over video on your own time.

  1. A rider sends a run

A show run or a practice run of a pattern, with the class and scoresheet already picked.

  2. You accept or decline

See the class and discipline before you take it. Pass on anything outside your cards.

  3. Score it on the real sheet

Mark it maneuver by maneuver, movement by movement, or as one overall score, whatever the class calls for. Record your voice over the video as you go.

  4. The rider gets the total

Every line, the total, and your voice review land in their account as soon as you send it.

Every discipline has its sheet

Nine scoresheets cover the classes riders send. A run is scored on whichever one matches its discipline, already picked before you accept it.

Reining
70 base. Each maneuver from -1.5 to +1.5 in half points, penalties taken off.
Cow horse
70 base. Each maneuver or cow work part from -1.5 to +1.5, penalties taken off.
Ranch riding
70 base. Each maneuver from -1.5 to +1.5 in half points, penalties taken off.
Trail
70 base. Each obstacle from -1.5 to +1.5 in half points, penalties taken off.
Western riding
70 base. Each maneuver from -1.5 to +1.5 in half points, penalties taken off.
Horsemanship, equitation or showmanship pattern
70 base. Each maneuver from -3 to +3 in half points, plus form and effectiveness 0 to 5.
Dressage test
Each movement 0 to 10 with its coefficient, error points taken off, shown as a percentage.
Hunter or equitation
One score out of 100, with notes on each part of the round.
Overall score
One score out of 100, with notes on each part of the ride.

What is in the app for you

Everything below ships today, on iPhone, Android and the web.

Your voice over the run
Record your review over the video as you score, so the rider hears why each line landed where it did.
Reply on video
When a point is easier to show, film yourself instead, up to ten minutes. It works on a judged run review the same as a critique.
Follow-ups and redos
Add a follow-up or redo your review for 30 days after you send it, same as a coach can on a critique.
Sell a monthly plan
Offer riders a monthly plan with judged runs in it. You set the price and how many runs it covers.
Judge and coach
One account does both. Judged runs, critiques and live lessons each switch on and off with their own price.
Ride too
One tap in the app header switches to Riding, so you can send your own runs to other judges and trainers.
A profile riders trust
Your cards, credentials, rate, rating and how many runs you have judged, in the judge directory.
See what you have earned
Earnings split into pending, available and paid, with every payout to your bank through Stripe Connect.

Questions you might have

Everything from applying through your first judged run.

Can I earn by bringing in other pros?
Yes. Once you are approved, the app gives you an invite link. Every coach or judge who joins through it earns you a share of what RideLab makes on their paid work, for as long as you are both here. It costs them nothing. See how it works on the Refer a pro page.
Do I need to hold cards to judge?
Yes. Add every association card you hold. Riders see them on your profile and can search for a judge by card. The list includes AQHA, APHA, ApHC, NRHA, NRCHA, and more.
How do I get paid?
You set your rate once you are approved, and your dashboard shows the allowed range and the platform fee. The rider pays when they send the run. After you send the score, your share goes to your bank through Stripe Connect, usually within a few days.
How long do I have to accept a run?
48 hours. If you have not accepted by then, the run expires and the rider gets every credit back.
And once I accept it?
You have three days to send the score. The app reminds you before it is due, and our team follows up on anything that runs late.
What if I cannot take a run?
Decline it. The rider gets a full refund and can send the run to another judge.
Can I coach and judge both?
Yes. Judged runs, critiques and live lessons each switch on and off separately, and each has its own price. A rider you coach can also send you a run to judge.
What do I need?
A phone with the RideLab app, on iPhone or Android. You watch the run, fill in the scoresheet and record your voice review in the app.
Can I stop judging for a while?
Yes. Switch judging off in your profile and you drop out of judge search. Switch it back on when you are ready for runs again.
Can a rider send the same run to other judges?
Yes, up to five at once. Each judge scores it on their own, and each one is paid for the run they score.
What do riders see before they send me a run?
Your cards, your credentials, your rating and how many runs you have judged.
Do I have to judge a particular discipline?
No. Judge the classes your cards cover, whether that is western, dressage, hunter or something else.
